Orere Point
A little different to Maxim Build’s typical project, these custom-made cabins are no less design-focussed or impeccably crafted.
Introduction
Nestled into native book, overlooking the Thames Harbour, these two custom-made cedar cabins were constructed as extra accommodation for owners of an existing bach.
- Project Type: New Build
- Completed: 2016
- Architect: Tim McCoy, McCoy + Heine Arch
Details
The key to this successful build was Maxim’s ability to construct custom elements, such as a plywood outdoor kitchen, cedar trellis to provide privacy and a pergola which joins the two cabins together.
At less than 10 square metres in size each, the cabins did not require Council consent. Built in tandem, they are joined by a Vitex hardwood deck and feature glass-less windows that are protected by custom-made cedar and mesh joinery.
